Hello! Welcome to The Chatham Cottage.

I’m Liz. A wife, mom, and burgeoning recipe developer. My husband, Matt, and I love living in our 1950s bungalow, affectionately known as the Chatham Cottage in Chester County, PA. The Chatham Cottage blog was born during the pandemic as a creative hobby curating some of our favorite recipes and kitchen experiments. My love for cooking was born from my first love: eating good food. During college, where the food in the cafeteria was notoriously horrible, I discovered a love for trying out new recipes and tackling ambitious culinary quests. In my recipes, I aim to incorporate flavors from all around the world while mastering classic techniques. My favorite thing is to share a labor-of-love meal with my nearest and dearest, and to linger at the dining table without agenda - my hope is that this blog can bring some of that feeling to you and yours!

Matt is the other face of The Chatham Cottage. If you see a photo on this site, chances are he took it. He’s a photographer based in Lancaster, PA and his wide-ranging work can be seen in publications such as the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Buffalo News among others. When not shooting (or eating) food, Matt enjoys shooting landscapes, musicians, and portraits. His work can also be found at www.mattgendersphoto.com.
